PPM 162
- to ensure that parents are informed in advance of learning expectations related to Human Development and Sexual Health
- Recognizing that parents are the primary educators of their children in all areas of faith and morals, including sexuality, the Fully Alive program letters to parents already provide comprehensive communication between school and home
- The Fully Alive letters are in the process of being updated by ICE to ensure compliance with PPM 162 and should be ready in January. The letters will acknowledge the parent’s rights to request exemption.
- “notify all parents at least twenty school days before the start of the “period of instruction” related to the Human Development and Sexual Health expectations;”
- Parents have always had the right to remove their child from the program if they believe it is in the child’s best interests, and they accept the responsibility of providing an education in sexuality at home.
